The client sought to hire a Senior Talent Associate based in Nashville, Tennessee, to provide essential support to the Director. The firm was expanding its talent team to help establish its growing portfolio of healthcare assets in the Nashville area, known for its limited talent pool. The Director aimed to bolster the team with someone capable of leading talent searches while also handling daily client interactions and management. Seeking an associate that desired a shift away from traditional transactional recruitment towards a more consultative and relationship-based approach.
Once the scope had been established, priorities were ranked with the client to ensure successful qualification of candidates could be made. Market mapping within the area and commutable zones surrounding Nashville was paramount and were the next steps in building a long-list of potential candidates that could be a fit for the role.
Tapping into local talent would be conducted through head hunting and further narrowing a shortlist by aligning functional skills, candidate experience and through a candidate's desires aligning with the opportunity. This led to sourcing candidates with experience in Private Equity-backed companies, aligning with the firm's asset class, and who had a defined consultative edge to their work.
After a meticulous search process to meet a tight scope, a longlist of 15 promising candidates was presented to the client of whom 4 would be interviewed. Once the successful applicant was decided upon, negotiating a seamless exit from the candidate’s current firm would be the next challenge, ensuring concerns were addressed surrounding the candidate's financial transition by adjusting the base salary on offer and negotiating commission-related matters.
